I've read Moonlight (Moon #1), and Hunter's Moon (Moon #2)and was religiously checking both Lisa Kessler, and Entangled Publishing's sites for word on when this book would come out. I got so excited to see this in my inbox in exchange for an honest review. Moonlight was one of the first paranormal books that really pulled me in and opened me up to that genre. Without it, I wouldn't have ever tried Lisa Kessler's Night series which is just behind the Moon series for me.

Can you read Blood Moon as a stand alone? Technically, yes. The author does give enough set up that you can figure out what's going on but why would you want to? This book does touch on characters from previous books, and sets up other characters for possibly having future books.

Blood Moon continues right where Hunter's Moon ended. Nero, the organization that knows of the existence of shifters, and is trying to use them for their own gain is still out there. Nadya, who was bitten by one of Nero's genetically enhanced soldiers, is trying to set aside the self pity and live every day she has to the fullest since none of the other genetically enhanced shifters has survived. The pack has accepted her as one of their own, and is doing their best to care for and protect her.

Gareth, still trying to find his way through his anger and grief, continues to separate himself from his pack. It's his lack of emotions that causes Nadya to ask for him to guide her through her first shift. It's this first shift that starts to open their eyes to one another, but will it be enough to keep Gareth engaged with his pack? Will they find a cure for Nadya's illness? Will Nero come back? What about Gareth's plans for revenge?

I finished this book in one sitting. Loved it and can't wait for the next one. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars for me was the ending. The ending just came up pretty quick and I wish it had been a little longer, though it wouldn't keep me from reading it again.

P.s. I'm really hoping Sebastian gets his own book sometime!

I have read all the books in this series and have been waiting for this book to come out. I was so happy when I got the email update from Lisa Kessler letting me know this book was finally here. After reading Moonlight & Hunter's Moon I was vested in the series and once I started this book, finished it in one sitting! While this book answered some questions it did not answer all the questions I had for the main characters of all 3 of the books and I hope there will be more to follow! The only thing I did not like about this book was it felt like it ended very abruptly with no guarantees that what looked like a HAE was what would truly happen....or if Nero would still be coming after Nayda in the future. I will still be watching Lisa Kessler's newsletters and hoping for more to come in this series.
I love this series! This book is Gareth & Nadya's story. Poor Gareth has been dealt one emotional blow after another as he's lost every member of his immediate family. The recent loss of his twin, Gabe, devastated him. Nadya was recently bitten & converted by a werewolf from a scientific experiment gone wrong. The chemistry & emotional connection between these two is obvious. Watching them find their way to each other & fight for their future was such a great journey to be a part of. Thank you Lisa for another great book. I can't wait to see where you take us next.
So I fell head over heels in love with Adam in Moonlight, then I fell for Aren in Hunter 's Moon..
So I guess I should have expected to fall for Gareth in this..
but I did not expect to fall quite so hard..
Lisa Kessler do you know how hard it is to read when the tears are flowing down your cheeks...
this series just gets better ..

I wanted them to triumph and be together. I enjoyed catching up with familiar characters from earlier Moon series books. Pyramid Lake and the Stone Mother's tale added so much to the plot. As always Lisa Kessler wrote a suspenseful, paranormal story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I hope that one day we learn more about Sebastian. Blood Moon is a romantic and emotional story that kept me reading past my bedtime. I loved it.
Blood Moon, the third part of the Moon Series is one of Lisa Kessler's best. From beginning to end, you're drawn into the world of Naydia and Gareth. At the end of Hunter's Moon, Naydia was bitten by one of Nero's super wolves, transforming her from human into one of Nero's monsters. Naydia never knows when she'll change into the monster.
